Despre Mine

Numele meu este Liana, am 17 ani și sunt elevă la Liceul Inglemoor, din districtul Northshore. Când eram mică, am vorbit numai românește, pentru că bunicii mei aveau grijă de mine. În timpul meu liber, îmi place să cânt la pian, să joc tenis cu tatăl meu, să  citesc și să croșetez animale mici. Tatăl meu a venit din România ca să lucreze la Microsoft. Mama a venit după un an și împreună au avut doi copii, eu și fratele meu mai mic, Philip. La școală, îmi place să învăț despre istorie și politică, și sunt foarte pasionată de relațiile politice internaționale și influența Statelor Unite ale Americii în politica mondială. Conexiunea mea cu cultura și limba română este foarte importantă pentru mine și familia mea. Noi călătorim în România aproximativ la fiecare doi ani. Îmi place să citesc povesti tradiționale, să vizitez locuri istorice și să petrec timp cu familia mea când sunt în România.

My name is Liana, I'm 17 years old, and a student at Inglemoor High School in the Northshore School District. I grew up speaking Romanian even before I learned English, as my grandparents would often take care of me as a child. I love playing piano, tennis, reading, and crocheting during my free time. My father first came to the United States after a job offer from Microsoft, and after my mom followed him to the states a year later, they settled down and had a family, my younger brother Philip and me. At school, I love learning about history and politics, especially the influence of the U.S in international politics. My connection to the Romanian language and culture has always been incredibly important to me and my family, and in order to maintain this connection, we travel back to Romania around every two years. Though the flights may be incredibly long and grueling, we enjoy our time traveling in Romania not just by spending time with our extended family, but by reading traditional folk stories and visiting many historical landmarks.
